- 1. COVID-19: Germany donates €26m to Nigeria
- Germany has on Monday announced the donation of €26m to support Nigeria’s COVID-19 response, as reported by punch, adding that, the donation was in demonstration of its solidarity and cooperation with Nigeria amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
- Further noted that the funds would provide humanitarian assistance in the North East, especially in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.
- 2. Democracy Day: FG declares June 12 Public Holiday
- The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 12, 2020 as a public holiday, to mark this year’s Democracy Day.
- Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah, in a statement issued Monday in Abuja disclosed that, the declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola on behalf of the Federal Government.
- 3. Buhari finally nominates Dongban-Mensem to Senate as Appeal Court President
- The President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally sent the name of Monica Dongban-Mensem to the Senate for confirmation as the substantive President of the Court of Appeal, in a brief statement by Mr Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Monday afternoon, according to report.
- 4. President Buhari saw tomorrow — El-Rufai
- The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as the leader, who saw tomorrow by making agriculture a priority five years ago when he came into power, at the flag-off of distribution of inputs to farmers by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as parts of mitigation efforts against COVID-19.
- Further expressed that; today our country is on its way to self sufficiency in many agricultural products such as rice, maize and many others, noted that, the country had needed to import food from abroad and urged Nigerians to appreciate the President for his foresight.
- 5. Lagos Assembly passes vote of confidence in Obasa
- The Lagos State House of Assembly, on Monday passed a vote of confidence in the Speaker of the House, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, after clearing him of corruption allegations, according to reports, further gathered that, the House, unanimously passed the vote of confidence, through a voice vote conducted by the Majority Leader, Mr Sanai Agunbiade, who acted as the speaker during the plenary.

- Nigerian man identified as Dr. Sale Muhammed Dandashire was the 2019 Best Graduating Student at Ahmadu Bello University Medical School in Zaria, Kaduna State, where he also won Best student awards in Physiology, Surgery, Haematology, Anatomy, Hustopathology, Biochemistry, Chemical Pathology and Project.
- Ogun Governor's Wife Leads Walk Against Gender Based Violence
- The First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun called on the three arms of government, in Ogun state to give unflinching support to matters concerning rape and gender based violence, during a peaceful walk and awareness to the Executive and the Legislative arms of the State, to solicit support, for action against gender based violence and rape in Ogun State.
- Bamidele, decried the gruesome rape and killings, of Tina Ezekwe, Uwavera Omozua, Barakat Bello, and Jennifer, that occurred recently among others, stating that, such crimes had been on the rise in the community, demanded drastic and urgent steps to nip them in the bud.
